WTSC News July 10th
1. Anderson Invite- the meet host has announced limited events for the 200's for all 12 & under swimmers.
Please view this
psych sheet from the host team
on these events and note that only those listed will swim in these 200's. No other events have been limited. Click here to redirect to the Anderson Invite page on website, which has warm up times, directions, and parking info, and much more.As of 10AM on Thursday, the host team has released an updated psych sheet for Friday PM-- apparently some errors were made on the first version.
2. Championship meets!! Senior State and Age Group State are coming up soon! Entry deadline for Senior State is this Friday, while for Age Group State is the following Friday. Senior State Eligibility Report & Age Group State Eligibility Reports are linked on their respective pages on the team website For either, athletes with cuts need to have a first hand, live chat with their group coach to verify events and availability for relays. Coaches will automatically enter athletes in this meet without you having to sign-up, however you may be taken out of events without confirmation/chat with your swimmer or if you miss significant practice time. Speaking of relays, we will release a preliminary relay report for Age Group State the day after the Anderson Invite, as well as update to the Eligibility Report to reflect new cuts. The most important thing regarding your participation in these meets is to 1) have great attendance over the next two weeks 2) talk to your coach often and 3) view the website frequently for updates including event selections and relays.
3.Championship Team Party- on July 23rd 6:45 to 745PM. All swimmers on the team are encouraged to attend practice and stay for our team party recognizng both Senior and Age Group State Swimmers. All swimmers will be served dinner. More details TBA.
4. NCHS will be a busy place for the next few days. As was the case Wednesday PM, NCHS is host site to the Addidas Basketball Invite for the remainder of the week. Due to this, the parking lot will be very restricted and sections will be closed. The NC Athletic Department tells us that you will need to mention to parking security that you are simply dropping off/picking up at the pool doors. In the event you need to park, you may need to do this at a more distant location as Door #24 will be the main entrance point for the basketball event.
5. Time Trial offered- we will be offering a time trial on Sunday, July 21st at NC as either a last chance opportunity for our 14 & unders to make cuts for Age Group State &/or simply as a way to get in one more swim for the summer time. Details: 8AM warm up, 9AM start time, all events offered in LCM format. Sign up online by Friday July 19th 7PM.
6. New calendar for remainder of the season. This calendar reflects some training changes (for example, Seniors going to a single practice schedule for the next week) due to Championship meets. Also, any senior swimmer that is still a 14 & under swimmer should switch to the Tsunami training group starting this coming Monday so that Coach Davis can gather all swimmers in that age range for final preparations. July/August Calendar.
