RIVI Summer Spectacular – Hot off a great performance at our hosted meet (see below), WTSC swimmers are back in action this weekend at the RIVI Summer Spectacular (June 19-22 @ Riveria Club). This outdoor meet offers our swimmers a racing experience only available in Indiana for a short time each year. An informational email was sent to all participating families, and any updates will be passed along as they are received from the host club. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions and GO WTSC!

 

WTSC Summertime Challenge Recap – Thank you for your time, energy and dedication to our team last weekend as we hosted another successful WTSC event. Our swimmers took advantage of the opportunity to turn in many noteworthy performances. An updated Honor Roll has been posted on the team website, but the following swimmers earned shout outs for their accomplishments. First and foremost, congratulations to Lucy Johnson and Marcello Oke who swam in their first meet as a member of our team. And congratulations to Belle Broadus (50 & 100 Backstroke), Elaina Conway (50 Backstroke) and Trevor Murphy (200 Breaststroke), who made the first Divisional cuts of their careers in their respective events and congrats to Ethan Rodgers who made the first Age Group State cuts of his career in the 50 Breaststroke and 50 Butterfly. Molly Memmer made a new Age Group State cut in the 200 Freestyle and the following WTSC swimmers made new Divisional cuts in their respective events: Isla Chan (100 Freestyle), Brody Guerrettaz (50 Breaststroke), Darby Guerrettaz (400 Freestyle), Leah Kiefer (200 Backstroke), Brooks Klene (50 & 100 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke; 50 & 100 Breaststroke), Michael Leppert (50 Freestyle), Julieta Liborio-Ceron (200 IM), Molly Memmer (200 Backstroke; 100 Butterfly), Cora Paige (200 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke), Lillian Partington (200 Freestyle; 50 Breaststroke), Genevieve Skiles (50 & 100 Butterfly; 200 IM), Maddox Smith (200 Freestyle), Claire Strachota (100 Backstroke; 200 IM), Cora Vrabel (50 & 100 Freestyle; 200 IM), Aiko Walls (50 Freestyle) and Ella Wiley (200 Freestyle). And the following WTSC swimmers took home blue-ribbon finishes in their respective events: Jack Campbell (400 Freestyle), Isla Chan (50 Freestyle; 50 Breaststroke), Katie Countryman (100 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke; 400 IM), Sebastian Granados (200 Freestyle; 100 Breaststroke; 200 IM), Molly Memmer (200 Freestyle), Ethan Rodgers (50 Freestyle; 50 Breaststroke), Kayley Spicer (200 Freestyle; 100 & 200 Breaststroke; 200 IM), Cecelia VanderHaeghen (50 Backstroke), Annie Wolfe (100 & 400 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke), Lily Wolfe (100 Butterfly) and Sam Wolfe (100 Backstroke). Offsite Schedule – We appreciate your understanding regarding our alternative practice arrangements due to the renovations taking place at the North Central HS pool. Our offsite training schedule is available on the “Practice Schedule” tab of the WTSC homepage. Please follow this document carefully and speak with your group coach if you have questions. Any changes to this schedule – as well as any updates regarding the work at NC – will be passed along ASAP.

 

Open Water State –WTSC swimmers will compete for some hardware later this month at the Indiana Swimming Open Water State Championships (June 24 @ Geist Waterfront Park). Entries for this event are now closed and are available online for review. Additional information will be available closer to the event. Please speak with Coach Dave if you have questions.

 

BBSC Summer Splash – Our final “regular season” meet will be at the newly renovated Brownsburg HS pool as we attend the BBSC Summer Splash (July 11-13 @ Brownsburg HS). This meet will be the “last chance” opportunity for Divisional and State cuts and is appropriate and encouraged for all Senior, Gold, Silver and Bronze swimmers. Swimmers already qualified for the Age Group and Senior State meets should speak with their group coaches prior to committing to this meet. Our commitment deadline is June 23. Additional information will be available closer to the meet. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions.

 

WTSC Car Decals – Show your Washington Township Swim Club pride and support the team in the process. WTSC car decals are available for purchase by contacting WTSC Business Manager J'Nai Cochran at [email protected].  The decals are $8 each and payment can be applied directly to your team account.
