Summer Sizzler Recap – WTSC swimmers turned in an outstanding performance against great competition over the weekend at the SSC Summer Sizzler. An updated Honor Roll has been posted online and at the pool, but the following swimmers earned special shoutouts for their performances. First and foremost, welcome to WTSC to Emerson Burden, Raylin Green, Emma Kampman and Grace Kampman who competed in their first meet as a member of our team. It was a big weekend for the Kampman family as Marissa Kampman made the first Divisional cuts of her career in the 50 & 100 Backstroke. Molly Memmer (50 & 100 Freestyle) and Annie Wolfe (400 & 800 Freestyle) made new Age Group State cuts in their respective events and Jack Campbell made a new Senior State cut in the 800 Freestyle. And the following WTSC swimmers made new Divisional cuts in their respective events: Landon Barna (100 Freestyle), Isla Chan (50 Freestyle; 50 Backstroke; 50 & 100 Breaststroke), Zachary Efinger-Yarbrough (50 Backstroke), Brody Guerrettaz (50 & 100 Freestyle; 50 Backstroke), Darby Guerrettaz (50, 100 & 200 Freestyle), Madi Nash (50 & 100 Freestyle; 50 Backstroke; 200 IM), Avanell Roberts (200 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke; 200 IM), Aksel Swenson (100, 400 & 1500 Freestyle), Cora Vrabel (100 Breaststroke; 200 IM) and Josephine Webster (100 Breaststroke). And Annie Wolfe brought home first-place finishes in the 100, 200 & 400 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Check out the Honor Roll for these highlights and many more. Way to go WTSC!
Practice Schedules – Our June practice schedule is now posted on the “Practice Schedule” tab of the WTSC website. Also available is our offsite training calendar which will take effect on June 16, after the NC pool closes for the summer for renovations. Any changes to either portion of our summer schedule will be communicated ASAP. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions.
Congratulations – WTSC is proud of the following swimmers who were chosen by their coaches as Swimmers of the Month for May: Sebastian Granados & Annie Wolfe (Senior); Trevor Murphy (Gold), Paxton Cope (Silver), Eleanor Rigney (Bronze). We are proud of our Swimmers of the Month for their hard work and commitment.
WTSC Summertime Challenge – It is almost time for another great weekend of hosting and racing as we prepare for the WTSC Summertime Challenge (June 13-15 @ North Central HS). All active Senior, Gold, Silver and Bronze swimmers have been pre-entered. If you have conflicts with the meet, please speak with your group coach. We need our awesome parents and families to host another quality WTSC event. A job signup is now live on the event page of our website. Click the “Job Signup” button to view the available shifts and make your selections. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions about the meet and speak with WTSC Business Manager J’nai Cochran if you have questions about worker shifts.
RIVI Summer Spectacular – We will follow our hosted meet with a little fun-in-the-sun, the RIVI Summer Spectacular (June 19-22 @ Riveria Club). This outdoor meet offers our swimmers a racing experience only available in Indiana for a short time each year. This meet is appropriate and encouraged for all Senior, Gold, Silver and Bronze swimmers and our commitment deadline is June 9. Additional information will be available closer to the meet. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions.
Open Water State – Open water swimming is another experience only available in Indiana for a short time each year and WTSC swimmers can compete for some hardware in this unique discipline at the Indiana Swimming Open Water State Championships (June 24 @ Geist Waterfront Park). Like any championship meet, qualifying times apply for this event and can be found on the event page on our website. Our commitment deadline is June 13. Additional information will be available closer to the event. Please speak with Coach Dave if you have questions.
BBSC Summer Splash – Our final “regular season” meet will be at the newly renovated Brownsburg HS pool as we attend the BBSC Summer Splash (July 11-13 @ Brownsburg HS). This meet will be the “last chance” opportunity for Divisional and State cuts and is appropriate and encouraged for all Senior, Gold, Silver and Bronze swimmers. Swimmers already qualified for the Age Group and Senior State meets should speak with their group coaches prior to committing to this meet. Our commitment deadline is June 23. Additional information will be available closer to the meet. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions.
WTSC Car Decals – Show your Washington Township Swim Club pride and support the team in the process. WTSC car decals are available for purchase by contacting WTSC Business Manager J'Nai Cochran at [email protected]. The decals are $8 each and payment can be applied directly to your team account.
