PIKE Recap – WTSC got our long course season off to a great start at the PIKE Spring Invitational. Our first Honor Roll of the season is posted online and at the pool, but the following swimmers earned special recognition for their performances. First and foremost, welcome to WTSC to Alexis Cheung, Katherine Cheung and Marissa Kampman, who swam in their first meet as a member of our team. Congratulations to Charles Allen who made the first Divisional cuts of his career in the 50, 400 and 800 Freestyle. The following WTSC swimmers picked up new Divisional cuts in their respective events: Julieta Liborio-Ceron (100 Backstroke), Molly Memmer (100 Backstroke; 100 Breaststroke), Ethan Rodgers (200 IM), Porter Shelbourne (50 & 100 Freestyle), Genevieve Skiles (50 & 100 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke; 50 & 100 Breaststroke), Maddox Smith (50 & 100 Freestyle), Aksel Swenson (50 & 200 Freestyle), Cecelia VanderHaeghen (50 & 100 Freestyle; 50 & 100 Backstroke; 100 Breaststroke), Cora Vrabel (100 Backstroke; 50 Breaststroke), Josephine Webster (200 Breaststroke) and Ella Wiley (50 & 100 Freestyle; 200 IM). Annie Wolfe made her first Age Group State cuts of the season in the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle. And Katie Countryman (50, 200 & 800 Freestyle; 50 Backstroke), Leah Kiefer (800 Freestyle; 50 Butterfly), Molly Memmer (50 Backstroke), Ethan Rodgers (50 Breaststroke; 200 IM), Kayley Spicer (200 Breaststroke; 200 & 400 IM), Annie Wolfe (50, 100 & 200 Freestyle; 100 & 200 Backstroke) and Sam Wolfe (50 Freestyle; 100 Backstroke) picked up first-place finishes in their respective events. Open Water State – We have added a new event to our schedule, the Indiana Swimming Open Water State Championships (June 24 @ Fishers, IN). Open water swimming is a unique experience that is only available to swimmers in Indiana for a brief time each summer. Like any championship meet, qualifying times apply for this event. And additional information will be available closer to the date. If you are interested in this event, please speak with Coach Dave.

 

SSC Meet Deadline – We are looking forward to a new event this summer, the SSC Summer Sizzler (May 30-June 1 @ Hamilton Southeastern HS). Our in-house commitment deadline for this event is Monday, May 19. This meet will feature a full three-day format with prelims/finals competition for swimmers 11&Older. 10&Under events, distance events and relays will be swum as timed finals. An order of events and meet schedule document has been added to the event page on our website and event selection is now live. Additional information will be available closer to the event. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions.

 

WTSC Summertime Challenge – We are looking forward to another great weekend of hosting and racing later this summer as we prepare for the WTSC Summertime Challenge (June 13-15 @ North Central HS). As is our custom for our large, hosted events, all active Senior, Gold, Silver and Bronze swimmers will be pre-entered on Monday, May 19. If you have conflicts and your swimmers cannot participate, please decommit or adjust your days of participation by Monday, June 2. This event is subject to the worker requirements in your registration packet. A job signup and additional meet information will be available closer to the event.

 

WTSC Car Decals – Show your Washington Township Swim Club pride and support the team in the process. WTSC car decals are available for purchase by contacting WTSC Business Manager J'Nai Cochran at [email protected].  The decals are $8 each and payment can be applied directly to your team account.
