Long Course Start – We hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break away from the pool and that you are looking forward to another awesome season of WTSC swimming. Our first day of the 2025 long course season will be Monday, April 14. Please check out the items below about our season startup and more.

Summer Registration – Registration for new WTSC swimmers for the upcoming long course season is now open. Families new to WTSC can click the “Join WTSC” button on the WTSC homepage to complete the process or, click the “Contact Us” button to speak with a club administrator for more information.

Spring Evaluations – We will hold evaluations for any new swimmers interested in WTSC on Tuesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 17 from 6-7pm at the NC pool. Any interested families can click the “Contact Us” button on the WTSC homepage to speak with a club administrator for more information. Please spread the word about evaluations to any families you feel would be a great fit for our team.

April Practice Schedule – An April practice schedule has been posted on the “Practice Schedule” tab of the WTSC website. Please follow the posted document carefully and speak with your group coach if you have any questions.

Parental Information Sessions – The ins and outs of competitive swimming and club operations can result in a lot of questions for families of any experience level. And the WTSC Board of Directors and Coaching Staff want to help you get answers to those questions. WTSC will hold “open house” information sessions for any parents with questions about the various aspects of the sport and the team. These sessions will all be from 6:15-7:15pm in the pool classroom on the following dates:

  • April 29 & May 28 – These sessions will be with WTSC Head Coach Josh Saylor and will be focused on the “wet side” of the sport, meaning any topics related to training and competition.
  • April 30 & May 29 – These sessions will be with a WTSC Board Member and will be focused on the “dry side” of the sport, meaning any topics related to billing, policies and procedures and so on.

Long Course Meet Schedule – Our slate of long course meets has been added to the WTSC homepage as events. All non-hosted, non-championship meets are open for yes/no commitments and additional information will be loaded to the respective event pages as we get closer to the dates. Please note the weekend of June 13-15, when we host the WTSC Summertime Challenge at North Central HS. As is our custom with hosted events, all active WTSC swimmers will be pre-entered in this event closer to the date. This event is also subject to the worker requirements in your registration agreement and will be our next opportunity to put on a great event for our swimmers and guest teams.

Speedo Sectionals Recap – WTSC wrapped up a successful short course season with some long course racing at Speedo Sectionals. This meet attracted a deep and talented field from across the country and our swimmers turned in several noteworthy performances against elite competition. Katie Countryman (100 Butterfly), Sebastian Granados (200 Breaststroke), Kayley Spicer (200 Breaststroke; 400 IM) and Lillian Tabor (50 Freestyle; 200 Backstroke) turned in lifetime bests in their respective events. And Katie, Kayley and Lillian teamed with Sarah McPherson for a 20th place finish in the 200 Medley Relay.
