Speedo Sectionals – Our final meet of the season is here, and we are looking forward to seeing our swimmers compete against some of the best swimmers in the country at Speedo Sectionals (March 27-30 @ IU Natatorium). This long course prelims/finals event is a national level championship meet and you can follow the action on Meet Mobile or click HERE for the meet website for results, heat sheets, livestream information and more. Age Group State Recap – A small but mighty squad of WTSC swimmers turned in an impressive performance over the weekend at Age Group State. Leading the charge was Amos Groothuis who made the first Zones cut of his career with his 7th place finish in the 50 Freestyle. Amos also finished 10th in the 100 Freestyle and 13th in the 50 Butterfly. Annie Wolfe finished 9th in the 200 Freestyle and 16th in the 100 Backstroke. Annie teamed with Hadasa Garcia-Esquivel, Leah Kiefer and Claire Strachota for 15th place in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Annie, Hadasa and Leah teamed with Molly Memmer to finish 16th in the 200 Freestyle Relay. And Hayden Rodgers finished 17th in the 50 Breaststroke with a huge time drop from his seed time. The final Honor Roll of the season is posted online and at the pool. Check it out for all the highlights from the “Championship Season.”
Long Course Start – We hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy spring break and your time away from the pool during our April hiatus. We will resume training for our long course season on Monday, April 14. Our slate of summer meets and an April practice schedule will be added to the “Practice Schedule” tab of our website closer to our first day back in the water.
Spring Evaluations – A new season means the addition of new members to our team! We will hold evaluations for any new swimmers interested in WTSC on Tuesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 17 from 6-7pm at the NC pool. Any interested families can click the “Contact Us” button on the WTSC homepage to speak with a club administrator for more information. Please spread the word about evaluations to any families you feel would be a great fit for our team.
