Divisionals - The “Championship Season” is here and WTSC kicks it all off with another great weekend of hosting and racing at the Central-Mid Divisionals (March 7-9 @ North Central HS & Lawrence Central HS). An informational email regarding the meet was sent out earlier today. Good luck to our swimmers in action and thanks to our families and parents for your support of our team. GO WTSC!

PIKE Recap – WTSC swimmers made the most of their last chance to race before the “Championship Season” with many breakthrough performances at the PIKE Last Chance Invitational. An updated Honor Roll is posted online and at the pool, but the following swimmers earned special recognition for their efforts. Congratulations to Zachary Efinger-Yarbrough (50 Backstroke), Paul Freeman (50 Backstroke), and Connor McCallum (50 Freestyle) who made the first Divisional cuts of their careers in their respective events. And Henry Holsapple added his name to the Honor Roll with his first Divisional cut of the season in the 50 Backstroke. The following WTSC swimmers made new Divisional cuts in their respective events: Kristopher Barna (200 Freestyle; 100 Breaststroke), Michael Leppert (100 Freestyle), Jackson Rodgers (200 Breaststroke), Porter Shelbourne (200 Freestyle), Claire Strachota (200 Backstroke), Cece VanderHaeghen (100 Backstroke), Josephine Webster (200 Breaststroke) and Ella Wiley (100 Breaststroke). And Hayden Rodgers picked up a blue-ribbon finish with his win in the 50 Breaststroke. Check out the Honor Roll for these highlights and many more. Way to go WTSC!

Swimmers of the Month – Congratulations to the following swimmers who were chosen by their coaches as Swimmers of the Month for February: Clara Pulliam (Bronze), Cece VanderHaeghen (Silver), Brooks Klene (Gold), Sarah McPherson & Lillian Tabor (Senior). We are proud of these swimmers for their hard work and dedication to our team. Keep up the good work.

March Schedule & Important Dates – A March practice schedule has been added to the “Practice Schedule” tab of the WTSC homepage. Please follow the posted schedule carefully and speak with your group coach if you have any questions. Please note that we will have our traditional end-of-season pool party on Tuesday, March 25 from 5:30-7pm. The last day of practice for the season will be Wednesday, March 26. And looking ahead, our first day of the spring/summer season will be Monday, April 14.

Senior State – Our Senior swimmers will compete against the best competition in the state at the Senior State Championships (March 13-16 @ Pike HS). An order of events and schedule document has been posted to the meet page on our website and additional information will be available as we get closer to the event. Please speak with Coach Josh if you have questions.

Age Group State – The Age Group State Championships (March 21-23 @ IU Natatorium) is one of the most exciting events in a young swimmer’s career and this prelims/finals event is the state championship meet for swimmers ages 14&Under. This meet is encouraged for all swimmers who have met the qualifying times and swimmers may also swim relays without individual qualifying times for the meet. An order of events and schedule document has been posted to the meet page on our website. The deadline to commit to this event is March 14. Additional information will be available as we get closer to the event. Please speak with Coach Dave or your group coach if you have questions.

Speedo Sectionals – Our final meet of the spring “Championship Season” will be Speedo Sectionals (March 27-30 @ IU Natatorium). This long course prelims/finals event is a national level championship meet that brings swimmers from all over the country to Indianapolis for a high-level competition. Please speak with Coach Josh if you have questions about this event.
