PIKE Last Chance Invitational – Good luck to our swimmers in action this Sunday at the PIKE Last Chance Invitational (Sunday, March 2 @ Pike HS). The “Championship Season” is almost here (see below) and we are excited to see new cuts get made and new names added to the Honor Roll this weekend. An informational email was sent to all participating families earlier today. Good luck and please speak with your group coach if you have questions about the meet.
Congratulations – The high school season in Indiana is in its final weekend and WTSC is proud of Jack Campbell, Sebastian Granados, Aksel Swenson and Sam Wolfe who are participating in the IHSAA Boys State Finals this weekend. The boys qualified for State by virtue of winning events at their Sectional meet last weekend. In addition, Jack made the first Senior State cut of his career in the 200 Freestyle and Sebastian made a new Senior State cut in 200 IM. Congratulations to all WTSC Senior boys on a great high school season and good luck to our boys swimming at State.
Dine To Donate – Take care of dinner and support our team in the process by attending our March dine-to-donate event at Jaggers (3960 E 82nd Street), one of our team’s Platinum sponsors. Between 11am-10pm on Wednesday, March 5, a portion of all orders will be donated back to our team if you mention WTSC when ordering. Hard copy flyers are also available at the pool that can be presented when ordering.
Championship Season – Our WTSC swimmers are nearing their opportunities to put months of hard work and dedication to the test as the “Championship Season” is almost here. Please see the information below about our upcoming championship meets – Divisionals, Senior State, Age Group State and Speedo Sectionals – and speak with your group coach if you have questions about any of these events that may be applicable to your swimmers.
Divisionals – WTSC will be back in hosting mode one more time this season when we host the Central-Mid Divisionals (March 7-9 @ North Central HS & Lawrence Central HS). We are thrilled to host this exciting championship event on behalf of Indiana Swimming and need your energy and commitment to make this event special for our swimmers and guest teams. This prelims/finals meet is open to swimmers of all ages who have met the qualifying times. An order of events and schedule document has been posted to the meet page on our website. This event is subject to the worker requirements described in your registration packet and job signups are now live on the event page on our website. Please click the “Job Signup” button to view available shifts and pick your shifts for the weekend. And please note the alternative site for the Saturday 11&Older prelims and 10&Under timed finals sessions. Additional information will be available as we get closer to the event. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about the meet and with WTSC Business Manager J’nai Cochran if you have questions about worker requirements.
Senior State – Our Senior swimmers will compete against the best competition in the state at the Senior State Championships (March 13-16 @ Pike HS). This meet is encouraged for all Senior swimmers who have met the qualifying times and swimmers may also swim relays without individual qualifying times for the meet. An order of events and schedule document has been posted to the meet page on our website. The deadline to commit to this event is March 7. Additional information will be available as we get closer to the event. Please speak with Coach Josh if you have questions.
Age Group State – The Age Group State Championships (March 21-23 @ IU Natatorium) is one of the most exciting events in a young swimmer’s career and this prelims/finals event is the state championship meet for swimmers ages 14&Under. This meet is encouraged for all swimmers who have met the qualifying times and swimmers may also swim relays without individual qualifying times for the meet. An order of events and schedule document has been posted to the meet page on our website. The deadline to commit to this event is March 14. Additional information will be available as we get closer to the event. Please speak with Coach Dave or your group coach if you have questions.
Speedo Sectionals – Our final meet of the spring “Championship Season” will be Speedo Sectionals (March 27-30 @ IU Natatorium). This long course prelims/finals event is a national level championship meet that brings swimmers from all over the country to Indianapolis for a high-level competition. This meet is encouraged for all swimmers who have met the qualifying times. Please speak with Coach Josh if you have questions about this event.
