Groundhog Recap – The Groundhog Invitational was another great weekend of hosting and racing for our team. We appreciate the energy and dedication of our families and swimmers. Thank you for stepping up to run another successful WTSC event. An updated Honor Roll has been posted online and at the pool, but the following swimmers earned special shout outs for their accomplishments. First and foremost, welcome to WTSC to Connor McCallum and Porter Shelbourne who swam in their first meet as members of our team. Congratulations to Maggie Froberg (50 Freestyle; 100 Breaststroke) and Josephine Webster (50 Freestyle) who made the first Divisional cuts of their careers in their respective events. And Cora Paige (100 Backstroke) and Jackson Rodgers (100 Breaststroke) added their names to the Honor Roll with their first Divisional cuts of the season in their respective events. The following WTSC swimmers made new Divisional cuts in their respective events: Isla Chan (50 Backstroke), Ruby Chesebrough (100 Freestyle), Gabriel Curtis (100 Freestyle), Samantha Diercks (100 Freestyle), Brooks Klene (100 & 500 Freestyle), Julieta Liborio-Ceron (100 & 200 Backstroke), Molly Memmer (200 Breaststroke), Grady Mosby (100 Breaststroke), Miles Oglesby (50 & 200 Freestyle), Avanell Roberts (100 Breaststroke; 400 IM), Hayden Rodgers (50 Butterfly), Maddox Smith (100 & 200 Freestyle) and Nataly Trujillo-Magdaleno (200 Backstroke; 400 IM). And Amos Groothuis brought home blue-ribbon finishes in the 50 & 100 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke. Check out the Honor Roll for these highlights and many more. Way to go WTSC!
Swimmers of the Month – WTSC is proud of the following swimmers who were selected by their coaches as Swimmers of the Month for January: Cristian Fichtner & Hadasa Garcia (Senior); Julieta Liborio-Ceron (Gold); Lillian Partington (Silver); Eloise Carter (Bronze). We are proud of our Swimmers of the Month for their hard work and dedication to our team. Keep up the good work.
Northside Invitational – WTSC will return to our traditional late-season event next weekend, the Northside Invitational (February 15 & 16 @ Carmel HS). Entries for this event are now closed and are posted at the pool and online for review. A schedule and order of events has been posted to the meet page on our website and additional meet information will be available closer to the event. Please speak with your group coach if you have questions about this event.
PIKE Last Chance Invitational – We have added a new event to our schedule of events, the PIKE Last Chance Invitational (Sunday, March 2 @ Pike HS). This event is intended to be a “last chance” opportunity for swimmers to make Divisional cuts or a final racing opportunity for swimmers without Divisional cuts. This event is open to any Senior, Gold, Silver or Bronze swimmers who meet the above criteria. Our in-house commitment deadline for this event is February 21. A schedule and order of events has been posted to the event page on our website and additional information will be available closer to the event. Please speak with your group coach if you have any questions.
WTSC Winter Fundraiser – The success of our 2025 winter fundraising campaign continues and we are grateful for the support and generosity of our donors and sponsors (see below). All funds will be used to purchase new equipment and upgrade existing equipment to better train our swimmers, offer scholarships to new swimmers in the Bronze and Silver Groups, and more.
