* As is customary for Championship meets, you will be automatically signed up to swim if you have qualified for individual events or as a relay-only swimmer. Please notify your coach ASAP if you will be gone for these meets or if you cannot otherwise attend.

** Note Age Group State begins Thursday AM and concludes Saturday PM.

2. News

• Many, many thanks to all who participated or helped to make our meet last weekend a huge success. We hosted over 500 swimmers from 9 teams. Pulling off a succesful and productive weekend for the swimmers takes many helping hands. Parents, whether you timed, ran computers, stocked the hospilatlity room, or worked security, your position was critical. Special thanks to Mary Sims and Mike Jones as our Meet Directors.

• Over 50 people from the team attended WTSC Night at Victory Field on Monday. We cheered the home team Indians to a 3-0 victory over Gwinnett, took in a truly fantastic evening of Indiana weather, and ate more than our fair share of hot dogs. Many thanks to Jon Glesing in helping to organize the event. See below a snapshot of the scoreboard as it scrolled our team name.
• First shout out regarding IHSAA Moratorium week. Running for one week starting Monday AM on June 30th is IHSAA Moratorium week. Governing all coaches, athletes and parents across all sports, it mandates that there be no contact between high school coaches and their athletes and parents for that week. What does that mean for WTSC?
  • ​This has no impact on all Tsunami, Crest, Whitecap, and Breaker swimmers (unless you have a HS aged sibling). The only other exception - Tsunami swimmers will have no morning practice that week.
  • For our Senior Team, we will be forced to one practice per day for that week;morning practices only. NO PM PRACTICE THE WEEK OF JUNE 30TH. This works fairly well for us actually as we are approaching our taper/rest period before the championship meets.
  • This rule has no impact on incoming freshman, even those on the senior team. For those incoming freshman that are still 14, you are able to join Coach Davis and the Tsunami swimmers that week in the afternoon. We recommend hitting a few "doubles" this week as your championship meet (AGS) is one week later and you'll still be in a rigorous training week.
  • For all rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors- swimmers and parents both- you are forbidden any contact with HS coaches. This means Coach Papachronis, Coach Davis, Coach Griner, Coach Bradshaw, and Coach Carrington. No email, phone calls, or text messages, & of course communication/contact in person. You will be working with Coach Mike Christy and a guest coach for morning practices that week. For those swimmers with expectations/goals for Senior or Age Group State, it is an absolutely critical week of practice. Plan on attending those morning practices!!
