Holiday News Letter
Greetings and Happy Holidays WTSC!
· Many thanks again to all of our families that volunteered to help pull off a great November Invite. We had a several WTSC families who went above and beyond the call of duty to work extra shifts at the Holiday Champs meet 2 weeks ago. Special thanks to the following families: Hayden, Hamilton , Bye, Parker, Krahulik, Beck, Kincade and Wilson (whose kids aren't even swimming for WTSC right now), Katz, McPherson and Merrell. We simply couldn't run a meet without the dedication and hard work of these and all of our other WTSC families. Please understand that these meets serve (at least) two very important purposes: 1) to provide a great meet for all of our kids in the comfort of their own “home” and 2) as our only fundraisers for the year. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!
· We also want to send out a reminder that our next major hosted meet is January 21-23. Families who are going to be out of town or unavailable to work at that meet please let us know as soon as possible- Carolyn Marsan is our volunteer meet coordinator [email protected]. There are a handful of volunteer jobs that can be done ahead of time, and we will give those jobs out on a first come, first serve basis. Again, sign for shifts will be via your team website account.
· We have worked with the Washington Township Home School Counselors to show our commitment to the community. As times are tough for everyone, we felt it was appropriate to give back to the community. Since we are enjoying our new natatorium, we felt it was a wonderful way to say thank you to the community. WTSC has adopted 5 families from the Washington Township Community this holiday season. Each WTSC training group has been given a family to help brighten their holiday season. Last week and this week, you will find large poster fish bowls on the walls of the pool area. (Each fish bowl will have the name of the traininng group listed.) Each bowl will have many little fish with the needs of the family listed. Please select a fish or 2 (or more if you are able) and take it with you to purchase the item(s). The deadline for this giving-project is December 14th. Full details are attached. Please help demonstrate how we are truly our team motto- “Superior Swimming in a Supportive Community”!!!
· Calendar updates: No practice tomorrow due to home high school meet. Please come cheer on your high school teammates as #1 ranked Carmel High School visits NC for what will surely be one of the best dual meets this year across the state. A specific calendar for the remainder of the month and early January will be published later this week.\
· Meet Sign up deadlines: Crest and Tsunami are strongly encouraged to attend the Center Grove Invite on December 17th and 18th. The sign up deadline has been extended to Wednesday.
· If practice should need to be canceled due to inclement weather, you will be notified by the following methods: 1) email and 2)notification on the front page of the website. Both of these two methods will be used for each potential cancellation.
Happy Holidays,
The WTSC Coaching Staff
