Noblesville Invite a Huge Success for WTSC

Last weekend WTSC kicked off the invite season with smashing success at the Noblesville Swim Club Icebreaker Invite.

Whitecaps & Breakers:

There were some truly awesome Whitecap and Breaker performances at Noblesville this weekend! Lurilla B. from the whitecaps group in particular swam fantastic dropping close to 2 minutes from her best times despite swimming 5 events for the first time! Kavya Harish joined Lurilla on saturday and also kicked it into high gear netting some big time drops! Way to go girls! Competing in their first Invite for WTSC were Breakers Pheobe Harvey, Erin Krull and Anna Marie Culp and they did really well in getting some needed experience and seasoning before they really get it cooking at the WTSC meet! On Sunday, we had the "kids whose mom ran the marathon on saturday" contigent at the meet (by the way, ladies, you are nothing short of amazing in my mind for having done so!). Yiorgos B., Logan P. and Delaney I. all dropped bunches of time but did an even better job in translating the techniques we are working on in practice directly to their races!

Way to go guys!

Crest & Tsunami:

Crest/Tsunami swimmers began the season in a big way this weekend at the Noblesville Icebreaker meet. Both the 11-12 girls medley relay and freestyle relay of Natalie Marsan, Mary Kate Hamilton, Metta Thomas, and Hope Christy won first place. Hope Christy also earned her first state cut of the season in the 50 free. And congratulations to Caleb Parker, Payton Isakson, Sophie Beck, Natalie Christy, Metta Thomas, Mary Kate Hamilton, Emma Purcell, Natalie Marsan, Hope Christy, Andrei Petrache, Justin Matei, Nik Harish, Gabby Brandt, Clare Chandler, and Katherine McDaniel who all achieved personal best times this weekend.

Senior Team:

The senior team certainly broke the ice this past weekend. Special noteworthy performances:

Rachel Hayden- dropped time in an impressive -10 out of 10 events, and ran away with the 13-14 girls high point trophy. Way to Go Rachel!!

Not to be outdone by her twin sister, brother Sean Hayden also had impressive races and big time drops all weekend long- in particular in the breaststroke events and the IM's.

Zach Banks looked strong throughout the meet, notching a dominant win in the 100 breaststroke as well as starting the season in the 500 free well under 5 minutes.

Congratulations to Alexis Woods this weekend- she looked strong in all her freestyle races and completed her first 500 ever with courage and determination!!

Well done! Bravo!
