Mitchell Kampman Silver Group Lead Coach

Coach Mitch Kampman is a passionate and dedicated swim coach focused on teaching youth how to swim and helping them develop proper technique from the very beginning. A former record-holding swimmer, Mitch grew up competing at a high level and was actively pursuing a collegiate swimming career before an injury shifted his course. That experience sparked a lifelong commitment to coaching and instilled in him a deep appreciation for technical excellence and injury prevention.

Coach Mitch’s philosophy centers on building confident swimmers through strong fundamentals, consistent stretching, and individualized support. He understands that every athlete has different goals—some aim to compete at the highest levels, while others simply want to grow in skill and confidence. Mitch meets swimmers where they are and values the effort they bring to each practice.

In addition to coaching, Mitch serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where he advocates for children in the foster care system. This work has shaped his approach to coaching—he leads with empathy, patience, and a strong belief in every child’s potential. Creating a supportive and positive environment is at the heart of everything he does on the pool deck.

Outside of swimming, Coach Mitch stays active by training for half and full marathons or spending time on the tennis court. He also juggles life as a busy dad to three daughters, three dogs and a supportive wife, bringing real-world experience, balance, and energy to his role as a coach.

Coach Mitch’s goal is simple: teach kids to swim well, help them fall in love with the sport, and support them in becoming the best version of themselves—both in and out of the water.
