Why WTSC - We are about the swimmer

WTSC emphasizes the swimmer not the swimmer's performance. There is a place in the Club for swimmers of all ages and abilities. We provide programming for the beginning swimmer who is afraid of the water to the nationally ranked competitive swimmer. With WTSC, competition is the means to the end not the end itself. Through training and competition it is our mission to prepare our swimmers for life. This training starts with helping the individual establish goals. We then help the individual understand what is required to reach their goals. Finally, we support our swimmers as they triumph in the accomplishment of their goals. Not every WTSC swimmer achieves Local or National success. But in the end, all WTSC swimmers are champions; people who are trained for success in life outside of the pool.

Why WTSC - Our Coaches are the best

WTSC is blessed with the best coaching staff in the State. While this may seem a brash statement, we are not exaggerating in our opinion. Many teams in the state have fine coaching staffs and excellent coaches. But, few teams in the Midwest and none in Indiana can list a coaching staff with as many years of individual and combined experience coupled with demonstrated success at all coaching levels. Each of our four age group coaches has been head coach of a successful club and/or high school team prior to joining the staff of WTSC. Their peers have formally recognized our coaches on numerous occasions. Informally, all of our coaches are highly regarded for their coaching and leadership abilities.

Our team's coaching is founded upon the proper instruction of correct swimming technique. The quality of the coaching staff ensures that each swimmer, from the first day they enter the water, is taught how to swim properly. Individual attention is paid to each swimmer to teach them the correct way to swim. Ours is not a team of a few stars that receive all of the coach's attention.

Why WTSC - Our team is the best

WTSC works very hard at maintaining the quality of the team for the benefit of all. We consider ourselves an extended family that works together towards the common benefit of our children. As a parent run organization, we understand the individual needs of each and every member family. There are no forced work sessions or constricting contracts. There are no mandatory fundraisers or mandatory practices. Instead, each member family contributes as they see fit towards the running and continued success of the club. Our membership is concerned and committed enough to the goals and mission of the Club that we do not need to force anyone to work for or stay with the Club. We all work hard and remain loyal to our Club because we believe in it and we want to see it continue and flourish.
